Using Custom Fields in WordPress

Custom Fields extend WordPress page content offerings by allowing the addition of embedded code.

Instructions

  1. If the Custom Fields option is not showing on the Edit Page / Edit Post Screen, click SCREEN OPTIONS in the upper right corner. Ensure “Custom Fields” is checked.

  2. Enter a name for the Custom Field. In this example, the Custom Field is named “code.”

  3. In the VALUE box, paste embed code or other text. Click ADD CUSTOM FIELD to save this data.

  4. Enter the shortcode for the Custom Field as shown in the screenshot below to display its content on the newly published or updated page.
