Exporting/Importing Content from Another WordPress site

Export Content

  1. Click Export located under Tools.

2. Choose All content to export all site content.  Click Download Export File.

 

The exported file will be used to Import content.

Import Content

  1. Click on Import located under Tools.

2. Click WordPress from the list of possible import formats.

 

3. Click Choose File and select the downloaded Export file.

 

 

4. Click Upload file and import.

A prompt will display requesting how the imported posts should be assigned. The recommended practice is to select an existing user from the dropdown list.

 

5. Select the Download and import file attachments checkbox to download images and other files in the export site Media area and import to the new site.

6. Click Submit to begin the import process. Note that this process may take several minutes if the import file is large.
